REVIEW/RELEASE: Hate F*@k (Vol.3) by Ainsley Booth

4 Stars
“A bad boy can be so very good.

A good girl can get really dirty.”
Vol. 3 picks up right where Vol. 2 left off so action-adventure is the name of the game. At least in the first few chapters. Then we see the soft and vulnerable sides to these hate f*@king characters. It’s no longer just about the burning desire. It’s…
“One-of-a-kind chemistry. The magic that happens on my skin everywhere his mouth and hands touch me. The tight slide and thrust of his erection inside me. Shallow movements that rub just the right spot. And if he’s the dark water, rushing towards shore, I’m the tide.” –Hailey
By this final installment I think it’s safe to say that the title is a bit of a misnomer now. Cole and Hailey are pretty cozy. And this last part is largely about them coming together as a real couple. But it’s still hot and dirty too…
“Her voice is barely above a whisper, and her breathing is coming hard and fast now. Like I want to, all over her.” –Cole
There’s a lot of intrigue going on in this serial and being a serial made it a little harder to keep straight, remember, and follow.  In the end of this three parter though, the scandal plots feel more like background, the erotic aspect taking center stage. Don’t get me wrong, the sexy scenes are pretty hot, but the political scandal plot that offered the promise of a page-turning read sort of fizzled out.  Hopefully there’s more to the story though that will unfold in future serials featuring the other members of The Horus Group.

REVIEW/RELEASE: The Exposé 4 by Roxy Sloane

~Synopsis~

She’s torn my empire apart. Now, my secrets are out — but I still don’t know who I can trust.

Somebody is after me, and they don’t care who they hurt to get their way.

I have to protect her.

I need to possess her.

It all ends tonight.
~Book Review~
4.5 Stars

This is the conclusion to The Exposé, a sexy and suspenseful serial. In this installment, which picks up right where vol. 3 left off, the degree of danger increases, the case of the mysterious notes is revealed, and Dax and Zoe’s relationship is tested once again.

If you’ve enjoyed alpha Dax in the previous installments, he won’t disappoint in this one either. Even as chaos ensues, Dax remains…demanding:
“‛In fact, you’re not leaving this bedroom until I say so. I don’t care if I have to lock you in myself.’”
And dominant:
“‛Your place in on your hands and knees with my c*ck buried deep inside you. And don’t forget it.’”
But at the same time we continue to see the vulnerable side of Dax too, which helps make him a well rounded character.

Now both Zoe and Dax’s careers are on the line and salvaging them might mean choosing business over their personal lives.
“Maybe my empire was really just a house of cards, read to fall.”
Zoe remains a strong and determined character who learns her lessons in integrity and ethics. I do wish there would have been a little more details and development on things from her life. The ending felt just a little rushed with some loose ends that didn’t wrap up.

All in all though, the installments as a whole with a little more development would make a page-turning phenomenal sexy and exciting erotic adventure/suspense novel. But it’s a fun and super hot serial as it is.

REVIEW/RELEASE: The Exposé 3 by Roxy Sloane

~Synopsis~

My secret is out — and the stakes are higher than ever.

One night with Dax Ryan and my cover is blown, but I can’t walk away. It’s not just the incredible, filthy things he does to my body; I’ve betrayed his trust, and I need to make it right.

But each new question only gets me in deeper. And every sexy encounter with Dax makes me want him even more.

This is dangerous. Thrilling.

And I can’t stop.
~Book Review~
4.5 Stars
“Undercover lies, deception, and oh yes, incredibility hot sex. It’s nowhere near my normal romantic troubles.”
Ours either Zoe; that’s why reading about it is so enthralling…exciting…and HOT!
“I should just let you loose in the club with a Dominatrix whip and heels.”
Yes, things steam up even more in the 3rd installment. In fact, it’s deliciously sexy.  It opens right where Vol. 2 left, propelling the dynamics between the characters and upping the tension.

As always, Dex is one lust worthy alpha-male. But as Zoe realizes, “Behind that ‘master of the universe’ thing, Dax is smart as hell, driven and moral.”

Zoe (I think we call drop the ‘Kate’ alias now) develops further as a character in this one. She learns a few lessons that her journalism classes didn’t teach and finally has to face the consequences of her deception.
“‛You’re stubborn and head-strong, but deep down you want a man who knows how to push back. To tell you when to shut the hell up and get on your knees.’”
The story continues to be a page-turner and the ending…well it’s “smokin’!”

RELEASE/REVIEW: The Exposé 2 by Roxy Sloane

~Synopsis~
Secrets are my power.

I’ve built an empire from fantasy. Your every desire, your most exotic dreams. I make them real, every night.

But secrets can destroy you too.

Now, it’s all at risk. Because of her.

She asking questions, stepping over the line. One wrong move and my empire could come crashing down — but I can’t stop now.

Who can I trust?
~Book Review~
4.5 Stars

In part two of The Exposé both Dax and “Kate” are getting in deeper …over their heads. (Go ahead and take that literally and figuratively). Either of their world’s could come crashing down.

Dax remains attracted to Kate but weary of her at the same time.
“She came her brains out for me, begging for more, completely out of control. The sexiest damn thing I’ve ever seen. I don’t trust her one bit.”
Hints of blackmail and coercion continue to plague his business. Readers learn a little more about Dax’s background… as well as what he’s packing. J
“If I had any doubts at all about whether his muscular, broad physique continued south of the border, well, they’re gone now. That man is hung.”
Did we really expect anything less? ;-)

Dax’s sex appeal certainly doesn’t wane. In fact, he gets more dominant at the same time he’s losing control. (literally and figuratively again)

Meanwhile, Kate is so pushing her luck at times, but it gets her lucky none the less. She must make decisions about how far she’s willing to go to chase a story and the theme of journalist ethics becomes a full on discussion.

Before my double entendres in an attempt to avoid spoilers become overkill, I’ll quit and simply say I can’t wait for next week’s installment!

REVIEW/RELEASE: The Exposé by Roxy Sloane

~Synopsis~

Wannabe reporter Zoe Warren is after the scoop of a lifetime. An exposé from The Underground could be the break she's been waiting for — she just didn’t bet on the hot-as-hell owner watching her every move.

A cat and mouse game with red-hot stakes from the USA Today bestselling erotica author. Prepare to get exposed!
~Book Review~
4.5 Stars

Zoe Warren is a recent college graduate struggling to make ends meet and make a name for herself as a journalist.  Dax Ryan owns an exclusive sex club called The Underground catering to high end clients, but he’s being threatened by someone who wants to expose his secrets. This is where their two seemingly different worlds collide as Zoe takes a hostess job, hoping to make her big break with an expose.  Dax, while attracted to Zoe—known to him as Kate Kendell— doesn’t quite trust her. And he’s right to follow those instincts whether she’s only one of the people he can’t trust or not.

The premier of this serial offers up intrigue and a hint at plenty of devious, sexy fun as both of these characters are willing to play fast and loose with their scruples. “Kate” skirts the line of journalism ethics, along with disregarding identity theft laws and a pesky non-disclosure agreement. And while she’s throwing principles out the door, what’s the harm in screwing around with the boss? Especially when he’s the sexy, looming, secret-hiding, in control Dax Ryan.
“I hear her breath hitch. I hold her gaze, and move her legs apart, wider, until she’s spread. Open. Ready.  Totally at my mercy.”
It doesn’t take long for Dax and “Kate” to emit some real chemistry. Even as the first volume in this serial, it’s short but damn is it hot! I’m more than excited and dare I say curious for the next volume.
”‘Don’t you know what curiosity did to the little pussycat?...It made it come like it’s never f*cking come before.’”
Thankfully, the wait isn’t long. This alternating first person POV has four installments. Release schedule as follows.

PART ONE: 4/9
PART TWO: 4/13
PART THREE: 4/20
PART FOUR: 4/27

REVIEW/RELEASE: Hate F*@k (Vol.2) by Ainsley Booth

4 Stars

So about last night… That’s probably the best way to sum up the opening to the second volume of Hate F*@k. Yeah, a little awkward and uncertain for Hailey as the scandal of Cole’s arrest heats up. Gives new meaning to the term “walk of shame.” ;-)

Still Cole insists…
“‘Nothing about last night was a mistake.’”
Cole is just as sexy and (mostly) in control as ever while becoming more and more of a book boyfriend. Hailey, I’m still still forming an opinion on, but the story is engaging and it’s a quick read.

In this installment, the crime-drama/political intrigue aspect is kicked up, the stakes get a little higher, and the f *@king gets less hateful...but no less heated.  Could it be these two are falling in love?
“‘You’re deep inside me, Hailey. That’s all I know. And this scandal will fade away, replaced by something else. And you’ll still be inside me.’”
We get more glimpses of The Horus Group in this one and possibly a hint at the next couple in the series…Are the Brownings the next hate f*@k???

A new cliffhanger is established as a lead-in for Vol. 3. It's’s a serial so you had to expect it would end that way. And April isn’t that far away…we hope ;-)

REVIEW/INTERVIEW: Hate F*@k by Ainsley Booth

4 Stars
“‘Is this what you want Hailey? You want some dirty sex with someone you don’t have to look at ever again?’

‘I’m pretty sure the f*@ked up track record of my family guarantees I’m going to have to see you again.’”
And that right there really captures the essence of Hailey and Cole’s situation. J

Though trying to live the average life, Hailey Reid originates from an upper class socialite family that has a penchant for getting knee deep in public scandals. Lucky for the Reids, or maybe not so lucky for Hailey, Cole Parker is part of The Horus Group, a management company in the Washington, DC area that seems to specialize in bailing the rich and famous out of PR nightmares and dirty little scandals.

Cole is the total sexy, cocky, jaded, take-what-he-wants, mysterious, ex-Navy SEAL, protector. Did I get enough adjectives in there for you to get the picture? It’s a pretty tempting package.  And it has Hailey breathless for him even though a part of her can’t stand him.

Hailey is the "good-girl," though she has quite a few bad girl thoughts about Cole. Still Cole knows he shouldn’t get involved. Off the bat, I enjoyed their banter and the way she pushed his buttons. You can feel the drawl between them. Though I really wished Hailey would stop obsessing about her body. That was a bit of a turn-off. I’m hoping that the drama that unfolds in the coming volumes makes her forget about her curves, thighs, and rear. Now on the flip side, there are definitely parts of Cole that could be obsessed about in further detail with no complaints here ;-) He’s certainly the allure of the story, a character with many layers and harboring some possibly off the record secrets. Thus there’s an intrigue aspect of the plot in finding out just how far he’ll go. I couldn’t decide myself what Cole and his group are totally up to or when he’s lying though his teeth with Hailey, but it feels safe to assume he’ll deliver the adventure, sex-appeal, and possibly danger (why is he packing three guns?... but dang that was somehow sexy when he stripped out of them) as the plot progresses.

Told via Cole and Hailey’s alternating first person POV, this is a stimulating start as the first volume in the Hate F*@k serial. It’s an easy one to devour in one sitting, and packs a fun, flirty punch of sexual tensions, sexy encounters, intrigue, and plenty of drama to come.

Author Interview: 5 Questions with Ainsley Booth

Q1. Let’s discuss the big eye catcher first—the title! It’s very unique as far as titles go and already has people talking. Having now read the story I understand how it comes into play, but what can you tell readers about how you chose it or came up with it?

A1: Under a different name, I write contemporary and military romance, and one day I was talking to my critique partner about a plot point, and whether or not angry sex would be appropriate or not. The title flashed in my mind, and I said, "Uhm, I have to go make a book cover..." It was one of those high-concept ideas that excited me from the beginning, but I was nervous, too.

So it started with the title, and the cover, and then I spent a few months thinking about how to write a romance--that builds toward something quite the opposite of hate--and still capture the intensity that a provocative title deserves.

Q2.  Hate F*@k  incorporates plenty of heated encounters, some political intrigue, scandal—What was your inspiration for the plot of this serial?

A2: I'm fascinated by the idea of crisis management firms, and the people they work for, so the plotting started with the four guys in The Horus Group and grew from there.

Q3. So tell us a little bit about the direction of the series. When can readers expect volumes 2 and 3, and will we see the rest of the guys of The Horus Group get their own stories? They all sound like pretty interesting guys.

A3: Hate F*@k  is a three part serial, as you've said, and all three parts will come out in the late winter/early spring of 2015. February/March/April release dates. And then yes, there are three other men who have interesting stories... I'm not sure when I'll write them, that's probably a question of demand and my other writing commitments, but once Hate F*@k  wraps up, I'll start to think about Tag and Jason and Wilson and the women that could bring them to their knees. I mean, make them fall in love. ;)

Q4. Tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get into writing? Who are some of your favorite authors?

A4: I'm a long time romance reader--big fan of Robyn Carr, Jill Shalvis, Victoria Dahl, Lori Foster, etc.-- and I've been writing contemporary romance for two years. Last year I read a lot of awesome serials from authors like Deborah Bladon, Lexi Ryan, Kati Wilde and Whitney Gracia Williams, and they've definitely influenced this turn in my writing.

When I'm not reading and writing, I'm a mom and a wife.

Q5. Tell us a little about your writing process. What are your favorite aspects? What parts do you find the most challenging?

A5: Favorite parts are writing the beginning and end, those fly out of my fingers. And I really enjoy editing and massaging the words to paint exactly the picture I'm trying to convey. The most difficult for me is dragging myself through the middle of the book, keeping the pacing up and not getting too explainy.

Thanks Ainsley and can't wait to read the next installment!
