Beautiful and radiant.
Then you betrayed our mafiya family—the only family we ever knew.
Grief-stricken, I did the honor killing.
Quick and vicious.
Your heart no longer beating. Mine ripped to shreds.
When I discovered you were innocent, I was destroyed.
Now, years later—somehow, impossibly—there you are, alive.
The nun who prays and never shows her face.
Trapped on the other side of a webcam.
How can it be?

4.25 Stars
Wicked Mafia Prince continues the overall story arc that began in Dark Mafia Prince, a tale of three brothers violently ripped from their mafia throne as children. But this time the romantic angle focuses on Viktor, the middle brother, and his long lost love, Tanechka.
This is quite an original pairing. Points for crafting a romantic dilemma I haven’t read before. Viktor and Tanechka were partners in crime in Russia till her perceived betrayal brought Viktor to end her life. Or so he thought. Till she shows up as a nun on the video feed of a virgin sex slave brothel he’s monitoring in order to take down. Is Viktor seeing ghosts from his guilt? Or is this the real Tanechka?
The later question is a struggle or perhaps a journey that unfolds throughout the course of the book. I’ll leave it at that to keep the intrigue aspect of the story in tact although I will say as far as the Tanechka’s character goes, she drove me crazy with her tenacity, and I was right there with Viktor in my desire to see the person he once knew. Once again I was rooting for the hero to bring our heroine over to the dark side. I’ve struggled a little with the heroines so far in this series and if Mira’s resolve to live on the right side of the law annoyed me in the previous book, Tanechka’s righteousness grated me to no end in this one till… well till the end or till the climax, and then I wanted more of her and more of their story together.
“‘I would fuck the alertness right out of your eyes so all your world was only my cock. You loved when I drugged you with the harsh pole of my cock.’”
Viktor totally won me over in this one. In the first book I found him a little cold and distant, but in his own story he becomes a fully developed character, longing to be part of a family and a place to belong as he attempts to rebuild the Dragusha empire all the while tormented by the big mistake of his past—the mistake he might finally get the chance to atone for. There’s no denying his love for the real Tanechka (ah the nesting! *swooning*) or the lengths he’ll go to secure her back, which made for a compelling dark hero.
“‘I’m the man who will keep you from your god until you remember you’re a devil.’”
Wicked Mafia Prince is told via Viktor and Tanechka’s first person point of view along with a chapter by Aleksio as well as chapters by Bloody Lazarus! Yep, even the big bad gets a voice and though initially I groaned upon seeing the goon’s name at the top of the chapter (what can I say, I wanted him dead in the last book), it surprisingly turned out to be quite humorous. Poor psycho has so much on his plate—a prophesy he must stop to stay on top, a brothel manager obsessed with nuns, and a hot executive coach who he himself is becoming obsessed with.
