27 year old college graduate Ashlyn Murphy is desperate for
a professional job, not a rocker boyfriend. Heck, she doesn’t even listen to
the music. Yet when she shows up for an interview as a PR assistant she runs
into one smooth, smokin’ rock star and one crass, no-holds-bared one. Too awe
struck to hold a conversation with the cool one, her attention is forced to the
one that says whatever pops in his head. Since Ashlyn is over qualified and not fitted
for the job, she’s quick to try and put the whole experience out of her mind.
That is until she and her friends run into him and his band mates while out
having a few too many drinks. And thus
begins the hot and humorous courtship of Ashlyn Murphy and Dan Evans, Power
Station bassist.
“How had I gone from disliking the crude, obnoxious rock star with questionable social skills to wanting to see him when I woke up?” — Ashlyn
Dan is a riot. He speaks without filters, says whatever he’s
thinking and feeling and doesn’t have one pretentious bone in his body. He’s a
real breath of fresh air. And while he’s lived the rocker lifestyle and
indulged in a multitude of women, he hasn’t met one yet that he’d consider
getting serious with.
But Ashlyn, he can’t seem to get her out of his mind. She’s a
little uptight and irked me in a few places in regards to her reactions to Dan,
but overall the story is awesome. It’s one of those books where you keep saying
‘I’m just going to put this down after one more chapter.’ Yeah right. I don’t think I could get enough of Dan, and
while there is no cliffhanger and each book in the series is a stand-alone, the
end definitely left me wanting more.
Dan is the total gem of this story. Ms. Gephart had me at
his Misfits tee but then she totally sold the deal on him as he went from cocky
rocker to sweet, heart-of-gold rock sex god. He’s hilarious with the things he
rolls off with…
“‘I was talking with my cock earlier and he kinda has a hard-on for you. I tried to tell him it was a bad idea being you’re moody and really anal, but f*ck me if talking about your ass just didn’t make him want you more.’” — Dan
Dan is the type of book boyfriend that could make you smile,
blush, and melt your panties all at the same time.
This is a story about opposites attract and while Ash lets
some insecurities and the power of suggestion cloud her vision, Dan comes through
and delivers all the “awww” moments along with ample hot, sexy scenes.
This book is seriously hot and seriously funny, and if you
enjoy rocker romances than you definitely should be reading this one.
