Quarantine Burning Questions

I hope this fun little post find all the blog’s followers healthy and safe during the COVID19 global pandemic.

While I’ve largely been preoccupied with life outside the romance world, every now and then I need a little escape. So as I looked around the blog's shelves today, I pondered the current activities of certain memorable characters from a handful of my favorite reads.  The below list includes some fabulous titles and series, and if you're finding a little extra time on your hands right now or simply need a romantic reading escape during these stressful days, I can't recommend the following enough.

In the meantime, I present...
Book-Bosomed Book Blog's
🔥 Burning Questions of the Quarantine

Did the God Pack take a selfie of themselves in their ‘You Wish We Were Dead Motherfuckers’ masks 😷 and text it to Denko to taunt him?

Does Naz have a mask to match his nefarious black gloves? And does the mob consider his job essential???

Are Nora and Julian sheltering-in-place on the island? Is Julian still dealing illegal arms or has he switched to toilet paper? 🚽

Did Fozzie put his chemistry skills to use to make his own hand sanitizer or is he too busy playing periodic table drinking games with EJ?

Did Nina and Carter panic buy M&Ms?

Does the saggin’wagon have a dead battery yet or has Beverly been using it to make those life sustaining trips to the liquor store? And what does Sweetpea🐦 have to say about everyone being home all day?

Does hot recluse John Michaels think social distancing is the best idea ever?

What kind of racy Zoom calls 💻 are Petyon and Simon holding these days?

What's the 411 on the Pussy Tamer's quarantine emergencies?

How in the world are Wes and Nicole managing social distancing during orgies with their friends??? 😜

Book Bosomed Book Blog's Best Romances Reads in 2019

🎉It’s that time of year again! And I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure this list was going to happen. I’ll freely admit I debated whether to create my annual best books list or not, which is kinda sad.  For one, I’ve had some health issues crop up this year, and time in the hospital, at doctor’s appointments, and for medical testing seriously ate into my free reading time. Secondly, the corruption in the romance market still runs rampant, which really takes the fun out of what should be a happy and relaxing genre.  But in the end, I decided that it’s not fair to let the bad apples ruin things for the good ones.

Now, I did make a few changes this year for the Best Of list. In the past, one of the requirements was that the book was released in the current year. I’m making an exception this year since my romance reading time was scarce, and I found a few good books that were actually released prior to 2019. So this year the list is comprised of my favorites romances that I read in 2019 because I feel that if I missed seeing them, maybe some other readers did too. And all of these books are ones you don’t want to miss if your're a romance reader!

(Top Reads in No Order of Significance Other than 2019 Releases are First)

Magic Man by Jamie Schlosser
She’s a young single mom. He’s a reformed drug dealer ready to build a new, clean life…
Holding your hand makes my dick hard. Smelling you makes my dick hard. Talking to you makes my dick hard. Thinking about you—'”

These two were just so super sweet and super sexy together.  I loved how their romance was built on all the special little moment they shared.  This is a total heartwarming romance. Get the scoop in my review HERE!  GOODREADS    BOOKBUB

About the Author: Jamie is making at least her third yearly appearance on Book-Bosomed’s annual Best Of list. In fact, she might even hold the record for the most number of books on the lists.  Be sure to check out her other fabulous good guys and romcoms.

Never Kiss a Rockstar by Sarah Darlington
She’s the rockstar drummer. He’s the tattooed recluse who doesn’t know and doesn’t care that she’s famous...
“‘I’ll make a trade…I see you watching my lips. I know what you want. I’ll give you what you want if you give me what I want.’”

Wow, it was so refreshing to have the heroine be the badass, no strings rockstar.  I hope we see more non-virginal heroines paired with celibate heroes to come in the new year.  This pair was rockin’ in more ways than one. (Yes, there’s a sexual pun there.) Find out how hard they rock in my review HERE  GOODREADS    BOOKBUB

About the Author: Sarah appeared on Book Bosomed’s very first Best Of list with her double HEA romance He Belongs to Me. If you haven’t read it, be sure to check it out as well as her Kill Devil Hills series.

My Best Friend's Sister by Hazel Kelly
She’s needs a place to stay rent-free. He needs love to bring down his walls. When her brother is out of town, they might both get just what they need and more…
‘…I was an asshole who’d never even considered the idea of reforming, and you were a princess who couldn’t tell I was a prince.’
‘When did you go from being an asshole to a prince?’
‘The day I rearranged my kingdom for you.’”

Each year it seems I have a last minute addition to the list and this year is no different. As I finalized the list, I was reading this story and couldn't help but feel compelled to add it. Any story the reminds its readers of the things that are most important in life is one to point out. Positive presentations of love is what the romance genre is all about, and I think you'll find plenty HERE!   GOODREADS    BOOKBUB

About the Author: Hazel is making her first of two appearances on Book-Bosomed Best Of list this year! If her swoon-worthy dates in these two books are any indication, she has more winners out there to be read.

Do You Feel It Too? By Nicola Rendell
He’s an urban legend hunting reality TV star. She’s the local sound tech…with one very vocal and hilarious pet…
“There were a lot of mysteries in the world, but the way I felt about her wasn’t one of them.”

Though released in 2018, I couldn’t keep this one off the list. It was the best romcom I read this year.  If you enjoy funny and steamy alongside an entertaining story, then I can’t recommend this enough. The General will crack you up, and Gabe’s total book boyfriend material.  Find out more in my review HERE!   GOODREADS    BOOKBUB

About the Author: Nicola is a first time author to Book-Bosomed Best Of list. She was recommended to me by one of my awesome Goodread friends.  This was the first of several books I’ve now read by her, and I’m definitely looking forward to more.  Check out this and her other titles.

Friends With Benefits by Hazel Kelly
He’s the college frat boy. But she’s the one insisting on no strings…
“Honestly, I don’t think lightning could’ve struck my dick any harder, and no thunderstorm would’ve left it so drenched.”

This is another 2018 release that also made the list.  Once again, I loved that our heroine wasn’t innocent or virginal and that our hero understood that, respected that, even when he started wanting more. And the romance totally wooed me over.  Like this hero can knock a date out of the ballpark.  He was sweet, and he burned up the sheets. Grab a bag of M&M and read the full review HERE   GOODREADS    BOOKBUB

About the Author: Hazel is making her first appearance on Book-Bosomed Best Of list this year, but she makes it twice! If her swoon-worthy dates in these two books are any indication, she has more winners out there to be read.

Last but not least—
Smut by Karina Halle
She’s serious about a writing career. She thinks he isn’t. When they're paired together in class, they produce a whole lot more than a short story…
“If I come in my pants, that’s not going in the book.”

How this came out in 2016 and I never saw it till this year I have no idea. But it’s a must read for any romance reader. It’s funny; it’s hot; and it has the romance market’s number. Get all the smutty details HERE  GOODREADS    BOOKBUB

About the Author: Karina is also new to Book-Bosomed Best Of list this year. This is the first title of hers that I've read, but I sure hope there's more like it.

Have a happy and safe holiday season everyone!💕

Book Bosomed Book Blog's Golden Treats of 2018

📚 Another reading year nears to a close, and it's time to reflect on the romance releases of the past twelve months.

It's been a tough year for romance books though in many ways. A lot of readers were frustrated with the selections. And then there was...ahem...ah...a lot of corruption.😲 There’s no point dancing around it. Let’s just throw it out on the table and talk about it. This year has seen social media blow up with news of trademark trolling, book stuffing, trend manufacturing, reader bullying, and review tampering. I’ve read about and seen personally so many scams it makes me really disappointed in a community that should know better.

Some months back, I even had a troll try to tell me that I should stop reading contemporary romance because based on my three-something star average for reviews, I must not enjoy it very much! (For the record, per Goodreads's Year in Books, it's 3.6.)

I rolled my eyes at her naivety because if you’re writing reviews for everything you read, realistically and statistically you’re going to have things you love😍, hate😬, like😊, and just feel kind meh😔 about.  And when you average that all together, you’re probably gonna come out in the middle. In contrast, this troll’s average was about as close to five stars as you can get. She was either holding back the lesser ones or tossing out 5 stars like they were cheap candy 🍬on Halloween night.

But my five stars are more like golden 🍫 Wonka bars. Because you don’t get one every time, they’re special. And that’s how I view the books on this list. 💖

Don't let the titles mislead you.😉 These romantic heroes and heroines might be untrainable, might be outcasts, might make no apologies, might be a little buzzed, might lick pickles; and might obsess about their dick; but they make a great romantic escapes that will put a smile on your face! They are also positive presentations of love, which is the whole point of the romance genre.

So here’s the romance stories that really spoke to my sweet tooth.
😉  These titles are the ones that when I peeled back the the wrapper (aka the cover), I found a delicious winner.

Book-Bosomed Book Blog's 2017 Book Awards

🎁🎁🎁 Happy Holidays! 🎁🎁🎁

It's that time of year again. Not only are the holidays upon us, but so is the best books of the year list! Because I like to switch things up a little when I do this yearly romance shout-out, I decided to not only highlight the best books, but some of their best features. My goal remains the same as previous years thoughto give the featured titles more attention (that they aptly deserve) and to send the authors a big holiday hug for making something special this year. 🤗

I was going to leave the actual trophy to your imagination, but then I decided it would be more fun to encourage audience participation. I’ve set up a little poll so you can vote. MTV has it’s moonman statue; the Grammy’s have their golden gramaphone; Book-Bosomed blog needs something fitting.  So cast your vote and then keep scrolling to find out who's getting them!

And the winners are....
 🥁
 🥁
 🥁

Best Romance Couple
🏆The Winner (s): A tie!  One Flight Stand by Kim Linwood and Untamable by Jamie Schlosser
What does it take to get this distinction? Well I had to love both the hero and heroine, love them equally, and love them together. That’s not to say that the other titles on this list or other books I read didn’t have likable heroes and heroines or couples who were meant to be. But there was just something upbeat, cool, and fun loving about these two couples. I wanted to hang out with Montana and Andrea and Emery and Estelle, maybe even double date with them if my hubs and I were worthy. LOL I think they’d bring chemistry; I’m sure they’d bring antics; (they might also bring cheese and cats😖); but I just know there’d never be a dull moment with them around.

Best Romance Heroine
🏆The Winner:   Her Bodyguard by Sabrina Paige
What does it take to get this distinction? What's not to love about a princess who scales palace walls; isn’t afraid to put her hand down her bodyguard’s pants to retrieve her phone; and can maintain her grace and dignity while being caught handcuffed before the king?
Weak heroines never make my yearly list so all of the gals featured here are strong female characters. Sadly, women used to always be presented as flat, stereotypical females in fiction, relegated to that status by male writers. Then women entered the profession and slowly things began to change. We still have a long way to go; there’s plenty of misogynist representations out there, but it’s heroines like this one that are storming the patriarchal palace and showing readers that we women are complex and charismatic.

Best Romance Hero
🏆The Winner: Dropout by Jamie Schlosser
What does it take to get this distinction? I'm looking for a few good men! (See what I did there with that little play on the series this hero originates from?😉) Well actually I'm looking for a hot, sexy, smart, swoon-worthy man in every romance book I read. Sometimes I find more than one in a story (*wink*wink* The God Pack) and sometimes I have to look a little harder to find the prince underneath the package (*cough*cough* Paging Mr. Crown). All the guys on this list are worthy of book boyfriend status. But the stand-up guy here is James Peabody Johnson! 👋Wave to him there on the cover, looking all sexy like leaning against his trophy. If I told you all the ways that Jimmy made my heart flutter, well I'd be giving away his whole story. Shucks! So let me just say that he came through in scenes and scenarios where many fictional men before him have failed.

Best Menage Romance and
Best Menage Couple Romantic Unit
🏆The Winner: The Hard Way by Annika Martin
What does it take to get this distinction? Well one thing wasn’t hard…actually there were three hard….opps I’m getting sidetracked by the kinky bank robbers and their hard ways. So what I’m trying to say is that it wasn’t hard to pick a winner for this category. I haven't read another menage yet that delivers such hot and lovable characters as these, yet alone delivers the romantic factor equally. So whether you love a good foursome or simply want to lose your menage virginity (fictionally speaking that is), this is the series to do it with.😉

Best Romantic Suspense
🏆The Winner: Beautiful Beast by Aubrey Irons
What does it take to get this distinction? In the best romantic suspense category, I need a read that keeps me turning pages for answers just as much as I'm sucked into the pages for the couple and their chemistry. This story completely delivered and more. I wanted to know what happened in their past; I wanted to know where they were going in the future. The characters were layered and gripping, the sex scenes were hot, and the ending was absolutely swoon-worthy. You can't imagine how it's all going to work out, but take a spin on this dark ride and find out.

Best RomCom
🏆The Winner (s):
1st Place🥇Untamable by Jamie Schlosser
2nd Place🥈 One Flight Stand by Kim Linwood
3rd Place🥉 A tie! The Hard Way by Annika Martin, Her Bodyguard by Sabrina Paige, and  Dropout by Jamie Schlosser.
What does it take to get this distinction? Hmm, are you sensing a little deja vu? Turns out 5 out of the 6 books on the list this year are also romantic comedies. Technically, I don't think Dropout is categorized as one, but Sweatpea and Grandma gave me a lot of chuckles. And that's how this award was measured...by how much I laughed. Hands down, Untamable had me laughing more than any book I've read in a long time. But the other four are also good for a giggle and a smile on your face.

Best Holiday Romance
🏆The Winner: Sordid Games by Elizabeth Kelly
What does it take to get this distinction? Sweet, sexy, safe, and puts a smile on my face! It's a simple criteria. If it's a holiday romance, I expect feel-good all the way through. And this one totally came through from the main couple along with all the hilarious supporting characters. You can find it in the Dirty It Up anthology or now on Amazon.

Best Romance Book
🏆The Winner (s): A tie! ALL OF THEM!!!
What are you waiting for? Go 1-click....
