Book Description
When foul-mouthed, tattooed, vegan Marie Diaz-Austin accepted a summer internship on a ranch north of Santa Barbara to work with underprivileged and special needs kids she was expecting hard work. She wasn't expecting the gorgeous, but conservative rancher, Will Thrash who wants nothing to do with left-wing hippies like her.
While they both may be stubborn when it comes to climate change, they're much less rigid about considering a summer fling. Although they hate each other’s politics, they can't deny their immediate and growing attraction to each other. But when the stakes are raised and they're forced to make a choice what will give? Their principles or themselves?

BOOK REVIEW: Debt by Nina G. Jones

~Blurb~
I don’t know what I was thinking when I hired someone to attack me. Maybe I was bored, or lonely, or there was a void so deep inside of me that I needed something explosive to fill it.

It was supposed to be safe. A thrill. A way to break through the monotony of everyday life. It was an illusion of danger that I could walk away from as soon as it was over.

Except that it wasn’t. Because I had been in danger long before I ever invited it into my life.

***

My mission is almost complete. The bubbling boil of vengeance that heats my blood might finally simmer.

She is the last piece of the puzzle. Once I destroy her, everyone who ever hurt me will have paid their debt.

It was supposed to be quick and easy, but as soon as I met her it got complicated.

Very complicated.

Mia Tibbett decides to indulge in a secret little sex fetish following a suggestion from a friend. So she logs onto a sexual fantasy website and hires someone to fake rape her—as in the sex is real but she’s consenting.

Tax Draconi has a vendetta against Mia and takes advantage of her pseudo rape scenario, replacing the ‘attacker’ with himself. Except his original plan to kill her shifts paths after engaging in the rape fantasy with her.
“‘Do I fuck like someone who’s faking it?’” –Tax
This is definitely a gritty, twisted story with an underlying depressing mood to the tale. It’s not the best dark romance I’ve ever read, but it’s still decent. As a thriller it’s pretty good. It’s probably most aptly categorized as an erotic thriller—trust me, there’s plenty of rough, detailed sex.
“This man is my stalker, my terrorizer, my lover.” –Mia
As a romance, I would have preferred more development in the relationship department. It’s over 400 pages after all; yet, the ending felt a bit abrupt and through much of the story there was a distinct pattern of sex—Mia and Tax individually lamenting over their feelings—sex again—feelings debate—sex…rinse-repeat.  They tended to lack in the conversation department, and while I did sense their chemistry, I couldn’t always quite figure out what they saw in each other—as it felt like more tell than show.

Tax is an intriguing, broken hero. Despite his cruelness and the blood on his hands, I still felt sympathy for him and the hands in life he was dealt.

Mia came across a little weak in my estimation. Despite the obvious humiliation Tax is dishing out for her and the fact that he has some kind of grudge against her, Mia continues to see him through flowery rose colored glasses, certain that he just needs to get in touch with his feelings and be loved.

Told via Mia and Tax’s first person point of view, Debt has some good depth to its story, and the overall plot is crafted well.  But some editing to improve the pace and eliminate what felt like repetition in parts would have made it a more solid four star read for me.

COVER REVEAL: Sold to the Hitman by Alexis Abbott

STTHreveal
Release Date: March 11, 2016

~Synopsis~

She wanted Prince Charming. Instead, she got an Assassin.

When the Bratva needed my eyes that night, I had no idea they'd fall on her. Pure as a princess, dressed in skimpy lingerie, and being auctioned off to the foulest men in Brighton Beach.

I'm not used to this white knight sh*t, but I did what I had to do. I outbid those pieces of trash, and pound two of them into the dirt for disrespecting her.

But now I'm a hitman with the purest and most subservient bride I could imagine. She's terrified of me, and I'm simmering with rage at my brothers for selling her off. I'm going to right both those wrongs, though. I'm going to give her a better life, somehow.

And then I'm going to make every one of those pimps pay in blood.

BOOK REVIEW: My Dirty Detour by Grace Risata

3.75  Stars

Violet McFadden, 34, lives a pretty ordinary life. That is until a little detour while running an errand one evening places her at the Grim Rock Distillery and into the sights of Sergio and Rocky.  But Violet is looking for a little adventure and excitement, and Rocky Duncan, 29, is looking for a book keeper at his not so friendly business. An exchange of self-defense lessons for some secretarial work puts them both on a new road.
“He was either going to murder me or bury my body or we’d have a lovely moonlit evening. Fingers crossed for the latter!”
Rocky is a bit anti-social, guarded, and intimating. He’s the type of guy you don’t mess with, built and emanating an air of danger.

Violet isn’t exactly your typical heroine. Quirky is probably the best way to describe her. While she’s always been the wallflower and had a limited social life, she’s far from bland or mousey.  At times she’s a ball of contradictions, a bit of a plain Jane who knows cars and guns as well as a germophobe who shops at thrift store. A reader herself, she has no tolerance for BS misunderstandings in romance novels, and I liked that about her.
“‘Grow up, fake book people!’”
But while Violet is pretty vocal and thus there is thankfully no BS misunderstanding break ups here, Violet could, however, stand to grow up a bit. She didn’t always act her age, and while sometimes I found her humorous, other times I just wanted to tape her mouth shut.

Told via Violet’s 1st person POV but with the occasional 3rd person sections for Rocky, the story is pretty long and a thorough edit would make it more manageable as there were places I skimmed on descriptions. Also Violet repeats everything that happens to her best friend and mother and not only was it repetitive, but it also made Violet seem really immature.  After a while her mother and friend began to drive me nuts with how nosey and meddlesome they were.  Rocky’s friends were far more interesting and made an entertaining addition to the story.

All in all, the story has a lot of potential, but could benefit from some tweaking in certain aspects. My Dirty Detour is an original standalone romantic-comedy-suspense.

COVER REVEAL: SASS by Laramie Briscoe

~SYNOPSIS~
I, Cassandra Straight, have loved Reed Shamrock to distraction since I was a teenager. I even watched him fall in love with someone else and almost get married.

A year ago, when he walked into his house and found his fiancée’s face in his best friend’s crotch, his life changed forever and it hasn’t been the same since.

On his first night out since the horrible incident, we run into the ex-skank. Seeing the devastation in his eyes, I made a promise that I would help him get over her. I told him that a pretend relationship between us would work. It would help him move on.

I didn’t count on my heart or his getting in the way. And I sure as hell didn’t count on not being able to tell when pretend turned to reality. When it all implodes, the only thing left is the truth.

Sometimes though, the truth? It hides and we have to dig deep to find it. To make it come to the surface, we have to give it a little talking to. We have to give it a little Sass.

REVIEW/RELEASE: Sticks by T. Gephart

Series: Black Addiction #2
Genre: Rock Star Romance

~Blurb~
Kenzie Clark had made plenty of mistakes. Who cared? Life was all about the journey, and if you couldn’t enjoy the ride then what was the point. The tough-talking guitarist from Brooklyn, NY worked hard so she could play even harder. But some mistakes weren’t so easy to walk away from. Joey Shaw, drummer for Black Addiction, was exactly that kind of a mistake.

How could one night of fun turn into a life long commitment? That’s exactly what Joey was asking himself when Kenzie showed up a few weeks later—the soon-to-be baby bump with his name written all over it. He could barely tie his shoes; how in the hell was he going to raise a kid?

With neither of them ready to become parents, it was always going to be a difficult, but there was no way either of them were walking away. Come hell or high water, they were having this baby—together.

Hopefully they would both be still standing by the birth.

~Book Review~
4.5 Stars

Kenzie Clark, 25, guitarist for Beauty Queens from Mars, and Joey Shaw, drummer for Black Addiction, have a lot in common. They both play in bands, they both enjoy sex, and neither is looking for a commitment.

Oh and they are both about to become parents. Together!
“It was perfect casual sex. I’m getting emotional just thinking about it.”
Yes, they both have sordid memories of the night but now they also have a little souvenir to go with it.
“Obviously our time together left an impression.”
With a baby on board, Joey and Kenzie must sort through all the awkward moments and figure out where things are going to go.  This story is a hilariously funny rock star rom-com of two no-strings-attached musicians figuring out what exactly to do...
“‘When a girl and a guy get naked and have a special hug—’”
Like the heroes of this series before him, Joey completely lives up and then some.  And while some (not all) of the heroines in the previous books haven’t always lived up to their male counterparts for me, Kenzie not only meets her match, she is the perfect match for Joey.

Joey is so full of himself but in an adorable kind of way. He’s also not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he’s written in a way you can help but love him.  The guy is a laugh out loud riot. I loved both his banter with Kenzie and with the bands. And then he’d show his sensitive side and well that’s where you get some swoonworthy romance.
“After all, it’s not every day you find out you made a person.”
Kenzie is a cute too. I really liked that she was a strong, independent female character trying to keep her wits in an unplanned situation. My only slight disappointment came with the drama at the climax, which seemed to go against how the rest of the relationship had played out and what Kenzie knew of Joey. But the resolution was good, and it also gave us a special “cameo” so that was a plus that made it easy to overlook. (Ahh…nope won’t spoil it with a name.)

Told via Kenzie and Joey’s alternating first person POV, Sticks is part of the Black Addiction series, which is a spinoff of the Power Station series; however, it can easily be read as a stand-alone too.

If you want a funny & sexy ‘you’re having my baby’ romance, this is definitely one to one-click.

Prologue - Kenzie

Oh. Fuck.
Fuck.
Fuck.

F. U. C. K.

That’s exactly what should be displayed in the window of that plastic contraption shaking in my hand instead of that obnoxious plus sign. The bright blue horizontal and vertical line against a stark white background. Taunting me as I stood there hoping it was some cruel optical illusion.

But it wasn’t.

Oh my God, I was going to be sick.

My head spun as I sunk to my ass on the cold tile floor. The stick that ten minutes ago had been so innocent and harmless was still in my hand as I struggled not to hyperventilate. This couldn’t be happening.

I was pregnant.

As waves of nausea rolled through my body—something I’d been experiencing a lot lately—my brain tried to reconcile my new reality. My life as I knew it was well and truly over.

I am going to be someone’s mother.

My hand had barely managed to lift the lid of the toilet as I lost my battle with my stomach. The full body heave expelled not only my breakfast but also my soul into the bowl as the evil EPT wand fell out of my hand and onto the floor. My future—as well as my blueberry bagel—now in the toilet.

I had done a lot of stupid stuff in my time. I’ll be the first to admit that, but Joey Shaw was by far the dumbest.

Unlike most of the girls he seemed to entertain, I’d known Joey for years. Our bands had crossed paths from time to time on the bar circuit, even sharing the stage once or twice. The appreciation we had for each other was mutual, both professionally and otherwise. He was good looking, sexy and had a body built for sin. It was only a matter of time before we ended up doing the in-between-the-sheets tango; I was impressed at how long I’d resisted.

Driven by hormones instead of brains, our little game of flirting came to a very lustful, sexy conclusion last month. That mouth of his wasn’t only talking up a good show, with every single egotistical boast coming out of it not even close to the mind-blowing orgasm he’d given me. His body absolutely delivered on the promise of crazy and unrestrained sex. It had been a night that wasn’t going to be easy to forget. Now it seemed, he had gifted me a permanent reminder.

Fuck.

I was so screwed.

We had barely even spoken since our hook-up, happy for it to be a casual thing between friends. It’s not like I was looking to date him. Ha. Not in this lifetime. I wasn’t that delusional. The man was hot. Not denying that, but I’d had longer relationships with a pizza than Joey had with women. So, I was happy to collect on the toe-curling sex without the side order of is-he-ever-going-to-call-me-again. God damn it. How could I have been so freaking stupid?

Ugh. My stomach churned again as my brain rationalized spending most of the day locked in my bathroom. It seemed like a solid idea, one that would see me postpone the what-the-hell-did-I-do-now that was begging to be dealt with. Ha! As if.

This year had started out with so much promise. The band was doing great. While no record deals had come our way, our song had gotten thousands of hits on YouTube. And there wasn’t a Saturday night where we didn’t play. Not just dive bars but actually great gigs. We were even making decent money too. Life was pretty awesome. Was. Past tense. Now, of course, I was a few months away from hawking my six-string at PawnRUs and getting a day job at Denny’s.

Poor Joey.

The sexy six-foot, dark-haired drummer had no idea that our baby was going to be the first and last child he would father, his balls soon to be hanging from my rearview mirror. I’d be sure to inform him and offer my condolences when I ripped them from his still-breathing body. His dick also at risk of ending up a hood ornament. It was only fair seeing as my body would be waving its red flag of rebellion in the coming months that his should suffer too. Might as well wear my skinny jeans while they still fit me, lord knows I was going to be rocking elastic waistbands and stretchy pants in the very near future. My wardrobe, the least of my worries.

Huh. I was going to have a baby. My hand unconsciously brushed against my flat-for-now belly, the life its dumbass parents created growing inside of me despite my lack of a clue. A missed period and some wicked fatigue the only hint that something was amiss. And in an instant, it had all changed. Knocked up, sitting on my bathroom floor with my head down a toilet, and I had absolutely no idea of how I was going to be someone’s mom.

Inside of me there was a tiny life. A little helpless human who needed my love and protection, who hadn’t asked to be born but had been put there nonetheless. Trusting that I would keep him or her safe until he or she was ready to enter into the world. My baby. Mine.

Great. Now my eyes were leaking. The fucking body rebellion I had expected months from now had already started as tears streamed uncontrollably.

What the hell was happening to me? I wasn’t one of those emotional girls who wept when they lost their favorite purse. I played in a rock band for God’s sake; I didn’t do crying. It was Joey’s fault. Yes. Let’s blame that asshole and his potent freaking sperm. He was the reason I had apparently lost my mind and would soon have a full uterus. And now I was back to being mad again.

Awesome.

This was so going to be fun.

Oh, please let me not kill him.

~About the Author~

T Gephart is an indie author from Melbourne, Australia.

T's approach to life has been somewhat unconventional. Rather than going to University, she jumped on a plane to Los Angeles, USA in search of adventure. While this first trip left her somewhat underwhelmed and largely depleted of funds it fueled her appetite for travel and life experience.

With a rather eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history, T struggled to find her niche in the world.

While on a subsequent trip the United States in 1999, T met and married her husband. Their whirlwind courtship and interesting impromptu convenience store wedding set the tone for their life together, which is anything but ordinary. They have lived in Louisiana, Guam and Australia and have traveled extensively throughout the US. T has two beautiful young children and one four legged child, Woodley, the wonder dog.

An avid reader, T became increasingly frustrated by the lack of strong female characters in the books she was reading. She wanted to read about a woman she could identify with, someone strong, independent and confident and who didn't lack femininity. Out of this need, she decided to pen her first book, A Twist of Fate. T set herself the challenge to write something that was interesting, compelling and yet easy enough to read that was still enjoyable. Pulling from her own past "colorful" experiences and the amazing personalities she has surrounded herself with, she had no shortage of inspiration. With a strong slant on erotic fiction, her core characters are empowered women who don't have to sacrifice their femininity. She enjoyed the process so much that when it was over she couldn't let it go.

T loves to travel, laugh and surround herself with colorful characters. This inevitably spills into her writing and makes for an interesting journey - she is well and truly enjoying the ride!

Based on her life experiences, T has plenty of material for her books and has a wealth of ideas to keep you all enthralled.

“You stitched up yourself?” I say, trying to grasp what I’ve just heard.

“No, an ER nurse teleported to Big Bear to double-stitch this shit,” he says, taking me in his arms.

“You might have lost a lot of blood,” I say, “but I see you still have that same old lovely attitude.”

“I need it to survive you,” he says with a wink. He’s so fucking hot when he’s injured and being a prick. I mean, really. Totally. Fucking. Edible.

“I need to clean and re-bandage this before I get in the shower,” he says. “Don’t worry, Tris, it’ll leave a scar but won’t cause any permanent damage.”

“Is this your professional opinion?” I say, suddenly upset with him for having been so reckless all his adult life.

“As a matter of fact, yes.” he says. “Seen my share of warzone stitch-ups.”

I’m not sure he realizes these things are not common to most people. If he weren’t hurt already, I’d smack him in the head.

“I have a million questions, Tanner,” I tell him, kissing his pecs. “But I don’t want to press. You’ve been through a lot.”

He laughs. “A lot, huh?”

“You know what I mean.”

“Never mind that,” he says. “I only have one question.”

“Just one? That’s a big number for you. What is it?”

“Is my hearing working? Did I hear you tell your father you love me?”

Oh, shit.
